Steel plumbing pipe, black shot blasted
Black steel plumbing pipe: why?
Since black steel pipes or black steel plumbing pipes originally range in color from light gray to anthracite black with a slight sheen, it is entirely possible to apply spray paint after light sanding or to leave them as is with a matte, satin, or glossy finish, thereby creating a more eclectic industrial-style decor.

However, if you want to avoid sanding when applying paint or achieve a more uniform color with a more consistent finish while maintaining a raw look in your industrial decor, we have developed a process that involves shot-blasting the tubes.
This finish is created by us in our workshop.
This gives you a uniform finish that closely resembles RAL 7022 Umbra Gray, with subtle variations and a slight texture—which pairs perfectly with the color of our raw cast iron plumbing fittings.
This method allows you to embellish your industrial creations even more. With these shot-blasted steel tubes your interior will be transformed into a perfect industrial vintage look.
After the shot blasting process, a thin layer of anti-corrosion oil is applied to the black steel pipes to protect them from oxidation during transport.

It is also possible, upon request—before placing an order—to apply the Montana matte varnish instead of the oil. Please feel free to contact us for more information.
