Tubes are made of medium-gray blasted crude steel and sized from 30mm (3cm) to 1960mm (196cm).
The steel pipes have a matt shot-blasted appearance, giving them a shade close to the terre d'ombre RAL7022 grey, which provides a uniform hue to match our cast-iron direct fittings.
Tubes are shot-blasted in our own workshop.
They are not threaded at the ends and must therefore be used only with our direct connection not plumbing screw connections.
Medium series pipes are plumbing pipes because they have thicker walls than light series pipes.
They can therefore be threaded to BSP standard and are more robust.
Medium series black steel tube, shot-blasted and standard finish
- Medium-gray shot-blast: Uniform shade approaching "RAL7022" umber gray, with nuances and a slight texture that blend perfectly with the shade of the cast-iron direct fittings
- StandardSmooth, with a certain sheen as with unfinished steel. Depending on manufacture, the color can vary from light gray to black gray.

As they are raw steel, a film of oil protects them from corrosion during transport.
This oil film can be wiped off with a dry cloth to leave as is, or for a further finish use our metal cleaner or with any other degreasing agent (e.g. brake cleaner).
For protection against humidity, you can apply a aerosol varnish (matte, satin or gloss), a spray paint or with linseed oil baked in a very thin layer, ...

The black steel pipes are designed to be inserted with all direct connections in cast iron or steel of the same size.
You can then design your own industrial bookcases, wall shelves, tables and furniture legs for the perfect industrial décor.
Custom tubes in black steel are welded steel tubes S195T / P235 medium iso to DIN EN10255 / EN10217.
